Chapter Fifteen

Holly ended up spending over two thousand dollars at the auction, and the woman in the office promised her boys would be at the boutique Sunday no later than one in the afternoon. Holly was now in the shower in their hotel room, Jill already having showered before her. She was happy with the amount of clothing she had bought, as well as the shelves and wardrobes. Just like her life, her shop was transforming into something special.

Turning off the shower, she toweled off, and quickly changed into a pair of shorts and a tank top. Using the blow dryer provided by the hotel, she made quick work of her hair, brushing it out. Forgoing any makeup, she made her way out of the bathroom, the sound of the television coming to her ears.

“What are you watch…?” she started to say, her words falling flat. Jill was propped up with her back against the headboard. She was wearing a short pink robe, most of her creamy thighs and long legs exposed, which laid straight out in front of her. With her hair splayed out, Holly though she looked like a model waiting for the camera.

“Just some show on home decorating,” Jill said, lowering the volume with the remote and then setting it down beside her. “Are you going to sit or stare all night?”

Holly laughed, coming over to the bed. Though she knew they would not be intimate tonight, the thought of being next to her and holding her was more than enough.

“How do you manage to look so sexy all the time?” Holly asked, moving in beside Jill, watching her face light up with a smile.

“I don't know.”

“You don't know? Uh-huh.” Holly leaned in, giving her a kiss, and then reached out and put her hand on Jill's arm, the silk robe smooth against her palm. Moving her hand down, she came to Jill's skin, a surface much smoother than any material she could wear.

“I'm excited about Christmas,” Jill whispered.

“Why is that?”

“Well, I get to spend it with you. And I have a very special present for you.” She gave her a small kiss, enough to bring Holly to the edge. Her heart was racing, and she found her own breath a little off.

“I can’t wait either. I have a gift for you as well, something I picked out.”

“What is it?”

“I’m not telling,” Holly said.

Jill rolled her eyes.

Holly smiled, then giving Jill another kiss, sat back a bit. She was in love with this woman and wanted to tell her, the words on the tip of her tongue. But that was going to wait until Christmas Eve, a special night, not in some hotel room in Colorado Springs.

“I had a lot of fun tonight. And I would love to go with you to more auctions in the future,” Jill said, snuggling in closer and resting her head on Holly’s breast.

“Baby, you’re my future. You can go wherever you want with me.”

Jill giggled, causing Holly to look down. “What’s so funny?”

“You called me baby.
